After a serious accident, Victor Kane, once a powerful and successful businessman, was now confined to a wheelchair — quiet, dependent, and almost invisible to the world. His wife, Sophia, no longer saw him as a husband. To her, he had become nothing but a burden.

She couldn’t divorce him. The prenup was ironclad — she would get almost nothing. But if Victor “accidentally” died… everything — the houses, the companies, the millions — would belong to her.

So Sophia came up with a cold, heartless plan.

She started acting loving and affectionate. She suggested a romantic getaway to a beautiful waterfall in the mountains. “Fresh air, beautiful views… it will be good for us,” she said with a sweet smile. Victor hesitated, but her sudden tenderness made him agree.

Her secret lover, Marcus, joined them as a “family friend.”

On a windy afternoon, they reached the edge of a high cliff. Below them roared a massive waterfall, the rocks wet and slippery. Mist rose from the abyss. One push — and it would all be over.

Victor sat silently in his wheelchair, staring at the falling water. The strong wind whipped around them.

Sophia stood behind him. Marcus moved closer from the side.

Victor spoke softly, without even turning his head: “Don’t do this… please. I know what you’re planning. I’ll give you whatever you want.”

Sophia and Marcus froze for a second, then exchanged a cold glance.

“Too late,” Sophia whispered with ice in her voice.

Marcus stepped forward and violently pushed the wheelchair hard toward the edge. The wheels slipped on the wet rock. Victor disappeared over the cliff into the roaring abyss below.

Sophia covered her mouth, pretending to scream in horror. Marcus shouted dramatically, “Oh my God! He fell! It was an accident!”

They almost believed their plan had worked perfectly.

But then… a calm, clear voice rose from the mist below.

“Don’t celebrate too soon.”

Sophia and Marcus froze in terror.

From the rocks below, several rescue team members appeared, helping a wet but completely alive Victor up the path. He looked straight at them, his eyes tired but victorious.

“I’ve known everything for weeks,” Victor said calmly. “I overheard your conversations. I checked the messages. I knew you would try this.”

He paused as the wind continued to blow fiercely.

“So I transferred every single asset to trusted friends. The companies, the houses, the money — none of it is in my name anymore. I arranged this rescue team to wait below. I gave you the chance… and you took it.”

Sophia’s face turned deathly pale. Marcus stumbled back in shock.

Victor looked at his wife with quiet disappointment. “You didn’t just try to kill me. You showed me exactly who you are.”

At that moment, police officers emerged from the trail and arrested both Sophia and Marcus on the spot.

Sophia screamed and cried, trying to explain. Marcus stood speechless.

Victor watched them being led away in handcuffs. He didn’t smile. He didn’t feel joy.

He only felt the heavy sadness of a man who had lost his wife long before she tried to kill him.
